My Why I’ve been blogging for 1 year, and my site went “live” 10 months ago.  I originally started blogging because I wanted to make a change in my life.  I am a teacher and my job is draining.  I’ve learned so much about managing my own and my son’s ADHD I thought I couldContinue reading “Wannabe Money Blogger”

How to Make Big Decisions

https://unsplash.com/@ashleybatz Something that’s always been hard for me, is making big, life-changing decisions.  It took me 5 years of public school before I decided to homeschool my son.  It took me 8 years to finish an undergrad degree before pursuing a masters in education.  It took me 10 years of teaching to realize I loveContinue reading “How to Make Big Decisions”

Endless Summer: How Homeschool is changing our perspective on learning, life.

First Assignment B received his first science homeschool assignment, today!!! Our journey has officially begun.  He’s testing EMF levels at home and explaining 3 easy ways to reduce exposure.   As I emailed him the resources, I realized this is our last summer countdown.  It’s the last time we’ll be patiently awaiting June 15th.  It’s theContinue reading “Endless Summer: How Homeschool is changing our perspective on learning, life.”

ADHD Confessions: Paying for Invisalign plus Braces

I’m not going to judge you.  I won’t tell you-you’re a loser.  I won’t tell you-you’re a bad person, or you’re unworthy.  The only thing I will say is, love yourself the way you are.  If you want to try meds to keep on top of things, go for it!  If you prefer to buy a planner in which to enter key dates, like the deadline for FSA claims, by all means, do it!!! But, whatever you do, LOVE YOURSELF.

Crying in line at Five Guys

Crying in line at Five Guys Sometimes momentous occasions happen at a simple place and time. I stayed up until 4am on December 24th. I purchased an additional line and phone number for my son for Christmas. It was the best $20/month I’ve ever spent. No data, just the bliss that comes with knowing myContinue reading “Crying in line at Five Guys”

Why being the boss on a trial basis is the best thing you’ll ever do for your career.

Have you ever “stepped up” at work?  Leaders (even undercover ones) usually do.  Have you taken on a project that everyone else balked at?  Have you “covered” for the boss when she was out of town (or, in my case, on maternity leave)?  If you’ve NEVER considered it due to the time commitment or responsibility,Continue reading “Why being the boss on a trial basis is the best thing you’ll ever do for your career.”
